Tittusville Municipal Marina had a coupon on line, pay for two days, get a third free, so we will be here for the launch and an extra day. Found this sign posted, with will hopfully settle once and for all the wake, no wake, idle speed issues. Notably the 800 number to report wake damage..hmmm..
Here's the lady in slip 138.
While walking the docks in the AM, witnessed a couple of manatees mating.
I knew they were mating as it was really obvious which one was the male!!
The before and during shot of the docks at the local Moose club, were we went to watch the launch, directly across the ICW from the launch pad.
Judy's friend Janet came up to watch the launch , in her son's tricked out Camaro Super Sport.
We were singing
"She's the little ol lady from North Key Largo, Go Granny Go granny go granny go!"
Unfortunatly for this guy, boaters have NO rights.
Just south of Daytona, birds have taken over an island.
Just past Main Street,We used our MTOA card to get a slip at the Yacht Club, for a price too low to mention here!!
Docked next door was the yacht "High Banks", probably has some thing to do with the Daytona Race track.
About an hour north of Daytona, the rain began, and got so hard, at times we had to rely on radar and GPS to navigate, visibility was near zero.
So we cut the day short and pulled into Palm City Marina.

It was a short ride to St. Augustine, we arrived about 10 am. It's a must stop for the Lady and crew.
They have finished the new bridge, which has elements of the old bridge in it. They were tearing down the temprorary bridge they built to use while the new construction went on. Make sence.. of course not.
Tonite we will sleep at Beach Marina.
This is the Lady looking down from the dockmasters office.
Early morning finds the Sterling Lady headed down current, towards the St. John River. Starting to look alot light Georgia here.
The Tide Gods were not with us long. As soon as I turned up the St. Johns River, my speed went from 10 mph to 5 mph!
There was a bit of commercial traffic on the lower St. Johns River.
Oh look Monrovia..............>
The Coasties were in Dry dock. The crew was in the floating barracks.
twas a slow ride to Jacksonville, fighting the current all the way, but worth it.
We waited in the current for the RR bridge.
As soon as we cleared the bridge, the water was brown, I felt like we had arrived!
We will stay at the Ortega Yacht Club Marina for the next few day for provisioning.
They are near a Publix and a West Marine. Plus some of the cheapest dockage yet. Nearly perfect.
Now and unsolicited word about West Marine's folding baskets.
They are GREAT! Carry a lot, roll easily, and fold up real small.
Get one, or two.
Took a little sight seeing cruise on the dinghy up the Ortaga River.
Oh my God! Canadian Geese!
Feels like I am back on the Loop.

As we left Otrega Yacht Club Marina, were passed by this beautifully restored 1930's boat.
The Ortega River Bridge opened for us "on demand". Jacksonville city is in the background.
Today was a picture perfect day for cruising on the St. Johns River!
Got "buzzed" by this ultra light sea plane.
Today we will sleep at Glen Cove Springs @ the $20 with 50 amp electric city docks, right down town.
The head of the springs is the round structure at the bottom right hand of the picture.
Is located about a quarter mile from the river.
Looking down the 28 feet to the bottom of the spring.
You could smell the sulfer.
Of all the places I have been on two Great Loops, I must admit, the St. Johns is my personal favorite.
Juslt look at the magnificent trees!
Looking down from the bridge into the spring run.
The walk bridge over the spring run.
The city docks of Glen Cove Springs.

Passed some clammers on the Mosquito Lagoon this am.

A cooler am with perfect conditions was offered up for our trip down to Palatka.
The water was loaded with algae. Our wakes look green.
For Sale
Riverfront home with dockage. Has it's own nuclear plant in the back yard.
The free docks with limited electric and water at Palatka.

Up and dawn and on the road for a long?? 20 mile trip to Welatka
We waited patiently, as the worlds longest train passed, for a bridge opening.
We stayed a Acoast Creek Marina, and took the dink down river the 2 miles to the free city docks.
Welatka is a very small town with great trees.
It's a real pretty dingy ride to town.
